What is the difference between a bearing dust cover and a sealing ring?
May 07, 2021
First of all, the bearing with a dust cover and a sealing ring have different performances, one is dustproof and the other is sealed.
Dustproof is to prevent dust from entering the inside of the motor; Not only the external dust cannot enter, but also the internal grease is not easy to flow out. The grease that is not clean on the outside is not easy to flow in.
Secondly, there are also certain differences in use. Bearings with dust cover are mainly used in the environment of "dry environment and dust". The specific conditions of the root can be selected with dust cover on one or both sides. There is a difference between the two in practical applications, not too big. Bearings generally have internal and external oil caps, which have played this role and are only needed under certain conditions. The dust is represented by Z and the seal is represented. At the factory, the bearing manufacturer with dust cover (including seal) has been added with grease inside.

The sealing ring is to prevent oil leakage, and the way foreign debris enters the bearing; The dust cover only prevents dust from entering. The two are used in different working conditions, but they can also be used in many cases.
